Waking up from an erotic dream I had spent in the company of a woman who was a blend of two faces I had seen at a conference on solar energy the day before, I at once relocated myself emotionally on finding Chloe beside me. I stereotyped my possibilities, I returned to the role assigned to me by my status as a boyfriend, I bowed to the tremendous authority of what already exists.

Jeffrey, with his godson. It's been three years, nearly.
I've never been so sure of anything in my life.
it isn't your sweet conversation that brings this sensation oh no it's just the nearness of you

I am referring of course to the way of life that places love at the centre of everything and expects all satisfaction to come from loving and being loved. This kind of mental attitude comes naturally enough to us all; one manifestation of love, sexual love, has afforded us the most potent experience of overwhelming pleasure and thereby set a pattern for our quest for happiness. What is more natural than that we should go on seeking happiness on the path where we first encountered it? The weakness of this technique of living is obvious; if it were not, nobody would have thought of abandoning this route to happiness in favour of another.
We never have so little protection against suffering as when we are in love; we are never so desolate as when we have lost the object of our love or its love for us.
Freud, Civilization and its Discontents.

All I want is someone to see me, someone to look at me with kindness. For me to be the most special person in the world to just one person.

& if you're living in the Greater Toronto Area I believe they're still screening it at Cumberland 4 and AMC Yonge & Dundas 24.

That's all I think I ever wanted, to go my own way and maybe find some love here and there.

These were taken by Randy. He's always looked up to me, he says, at least when it comes to the whole photography thing.
He's really come a long way.

to love is to battle, if two kiss the world changes, desires take flesh, thoughts take flesh, wings sprout on the backs of the slave, the world is real and tangible, wine is wine, bread regains its savor, water is water, to love is to battle, to open doors, to cease to be a ghost with a number forever in chains, forever condemned by a faceless master; the world changes if two look at each other and see,

I called up to her through my cupped hands. "Eliza!" I said. And then I shouted something daring, and something I genuinely felt for the first time in my life.
"Eliza! I love you!" I said.
All was darkness now.
"Did you hear me, Eliza?" I said. "I love you! I really love you!"
"I heard you," she said. "Nobody should ever say that to anybody."

To be nobody-but- myself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make me every- body else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight and never stop fighting. e.e. cummings

Copped a view of my own in The Annex--

I also work at Hollister Co. in the Eaton Center now and in September I'll be entering my freshman year at the University of Toronto, St. George Campus, with membership in Trinity College. I'm tired of words and I'm just not the same person.
